Our skin, being the largest organ, can be affected by the products we use on our clothes. That's why it's recommended to start by switching your detergent and fabric softener. These products can leave residue on our laundry, which may cause discomfort or even skin problems, especially for those with sensitive skin. But don't worry, making the switch is a breeze. Typically, a combination of soap, bleaching powder, and fabric softener will do the trick.
CLEAN YOUR WASHING MACHINE
Before you begin using non-toxic detergent, it's important to clean your washing machine. Simply use 200g of citric acid and run the highest temperature program. Residual detergents can accumulate in the machine and get released during washing, so regular cleaning is crucial.
STAINS
For tough stains, you can try using bile soap or soak your clothing in a water bath with sodium percarbonate.
ADD VINEGAR OR A CITRIC ACID
To soften your laundry, remove any remaining washing powder or minerals, and adjust the pH to a more acidic level, we recommend using white vinegar or a citric acid solution. Just place it in the fabric softener compartment.
NATURAL SCENT
If you're concerned about losing the delightful smell of synthetic fragrances, keep in mind that these fragrances aren't the best for us. The natural scent of clean clothes will become more appealing over time. However, if you still desire a pleasant fragrance, give natural alternatives a try.
Here's how you can add a non-toxic scent to your clothes:
1) For already washed clothes: place a few drops of your favorite essential oil on a cloth or wool and keep it in your closet.
2) If you have a dryer, add a few drops of essential oil to a wool ball and toss it in the dryer.
If you're starting a family or have young children, it becomes even more imperative to consider what you're using to wash your clothes. Non-toxic products are not only competitively priced but also much healthier for your skin and overall well-being.
We're here to assist you on your journey to clean clothes without toxic chemicals.
Best of luck, and remember, it's simpler than you think!🍀
